  • If your printer does not support the AirPrint feature, you need to update the software on your Mac. Otherwise, you do not need to update the software.

  • macOS uses AirPrint to automatically download the printer's drivers when adding a printer to a Mac device. There is no need to install them separately.

  • Then, unpack the printer, install ink or toner, and add paper. Connect the printer to a network using the above method by turning on the printer as directed by your printer. Finally, add network printer mac.

  • Now, move to the Apple menu icon and choose 'System Preferences,' and choose 'Printers and Scanners' for the old model. It will read 'Print & Scan.'

  • If you don't find your printer, then click on the plus (+) sign.
